Critical features of AFF include:\n\n - AFF allows you to store both computer forensic data and associated\n metadata in one or more files. \n\n - AFF allows files to be digital signed, to provide for\n chain-of-custody and long-term file integrity.\n\n - AFF allows for forensic disk images to stored encrypted and\n decrypted on-the-fly for processing. This allows disk images\n containing privacy sensitive material to be stored on the Internet.\n\n - AFF is an open format unencumbered by copyright or patent\n protection. The AFFLIB library that implements AFF is available\n for use in both Open Source and proprietary tools.\n\nAFF Library and Toolkit is a set of programs for working with computer\nforensic information. Using these tools you can:\n\n * Interconvert disk images between a variety of formats, including:\n\n - raw or \"dd\" \n - splitraw (in which a single image is split between mulitple files)\n - AFF format (in which the entire disk image is stored in a single file.)\n - AFD format (in which a disk image is stored in mulitple AFF files\n stored in a single directory.)\n - AFM format (in which an AFF file is used to annotate a raw file.)\n\n * Compare disk images and report the data or metadata that is different. \n\n * Copy disk images from one location to another, with full\n verification of data, metadata, and the automatic generation of a\n chain-of-custody segment.\n\n * Find errors in an AFF file and fix them.\n\n * Print information about a file.\n\n * Print detailed statistics about a file\n\n * Generate an XML representation of a disk image\u0027s metadata (for\n example, acquisition time or the serial number of the acquisition\n device.)\n\n * Produce an XML \"di",
