  "github_readme_excerpt": "Binkd is a Fidonet mailer designed to operate via TCP/IP networks.\n\nAs a FTN-compatible internet daemon, it makes possible efficient\nutilization of TCP/IP protocol suite as a transport layer in\nFTN-based (Fido Technology Network) networks.\n\n## Compiling\n\nnon-UNIX:\n\n1. Find in mkfls/ a subdirectory for your system/compiler, copy all files \n   to the root of the sources.\n2. Run make (nmake, wmake or gmake, name of make\u0027s binary is rely with C\n   compiler).\n\nUNIXes:\n\n1.) Clone the repo: \n\n`$ git clone https://github.com/pgul/binkd`\n\n2.) Change into the new binkd source directory:\n\n`$ cd binkd`\n\n3.) Copy all files from mkfls/unix/ to the root of binkd sources:\n\n`cp mkfls/unix/* .`\n\n2.) Run configure and make:\n\n`$ ./configure`\n`$ make`\n\n3.) When finished, the following instructions will be displayed offering various options for you:\n\n```\n Binkd is successfully compiled.\n\n If you want to install Binkd files into /usr/local\n     1. Run `make -n install\u0027 to be sure this makefile will\n        do not something criminal during the installation;\n     2. `su\u0027 to root;\n     3. Run `make install\u0027 to install Binkd.\n     4. Edit /usr/local/etc/binkd.conf-dist and RENAME it or\n        MOVE it somewhere (so another `make install\u0027 will\n        not overwrite it during your next Binkd upgrade)\n\n If you want to put the files into some other directory just\n run `configure --prefix=/another/path\u0027 and go to step 1.\n```\n\n## Installation\n\n1.
